Norway Travel Tips

Norway travel tips are issued by the British government, and updated frequently based on recent events like the July 22 explosion in central Oslo. This terrorist attack, which was followed by another at an Utoya Island youth camp, resulted in many causalities. The city responded with an exclusion cordon in the center of won, and increased security at points across the city.

The public transportation system is operating on schedule, except in the government district of the city. However, the threat of terrorism remains and the British government advises its citizens to be aware of this risk. Over 200,000 British tourists travel to Norway each year, and most do not encounter any trouble on their visits. There is a small amount of petty crime in the country, but it is less of a threat than in other European countries.
