One of the main purposes of our existence is to provide training and experience opportunities for the next generation of broadcasters across South Wales. During the course of our history we have helped dozens of people take their first steps into the world of Commercial Radio by providing training and experience opportunities here at Afan FM!
Facilities
Afan FM is based at its state-of-the-art new studio complex on Aberavon Seafront - funded jointly by the Welsh Assembly Government and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The complex boasts two identical studios that represents the latest in digital playout technology - currently in use at many of South Wales' local radio stations.
Vacancies & Roles
As you can imagine, demand for places here at Afan FM is fierce and we're unable to accomodate everyone that wishes to join us - especially as presenters. Vacancies very rarely become available for presentation positions but we are happy to accept applications for those who wish to present a show on the station - please be advised that there may be a substantial waiting time for a position to become available for us to consider your application for.
For other roles within the station, such as News & Sport or Promotions, there is of course less of a wait and these positions become available far more frequently.
